Only papers presented at the XV Congress of the Spanish Association of Agri-Food Economics 2025 are eligible for this Special Issue. Submissions will be accepted from September 5th 2025 to October 30th 2025. Deadline extended: submissions accepted until January 31, 2026.

Topic editors

The special issue will be edited by the co-presidents of the conference scientific committee.

Scope

The conference’s theme is “Providing Solutions in Times of Change through Agri-food and Environmental Economics”. This theme reflects the need for applied science that can effectively address the major challenges faced by the agricultural and food sector. All of this takes place within a context of uncertainty due to rapid technological and geopolitical changes, which impact individual behavior and threaten the sustainability of the sector and, consequently, of society as a whole.

Research topics

Papers submitted can cover any of the topics of the six thematic areas of the conference, which include:

  1. Environment, natural resources, bioeconomy/circular economy, and climate change
  2. Agricultural, environmental, and food policies and international trading
  3. Business performance, management, and organization
  4. Agrifood system, value chain, and associationism
  5. Food, consumption, and marketing
  6. Rural and territorial development (incl. forestry production and policies)

Note

If interested in being eligible for this Special Issue, authors are invited to submit their proposals to the XV Congress of the AEEA (deadline February 3rd 2025) signaling their interest to have their contribution considered for publication. Selected papers, which have to be presented at the conference, will then be invited to submit their full papers via the SJAR manuscript handling system.
