Evaluación de prácticas agroecológicas en olivares: Una evaluación ponderada del impacto económicoy la viabilidad técnica
Resumen
Objetivo del estudio: Este estudio evalúa las prácticas agroecológicas en olivares, centrándose en su sostenibilidad ambiental, impacto económico y viabilidad técnica.
Área de estudio: Andalucía (sur de España).
Material y métodos: La investigación prioriza 12 prácticas agroecológicas y las evalúa en función de cinco criterios de sostenibilidad: conservación de la biodiversidad, mejora del suelo, mitigación del cambio climático, reducción de la contaminación hídrica y prestación de servicios ecosistémicos culturales. Además, se evalúan las prácticas en cuanto a rentabilidad y viabilidad técnica de su implementación en explotaciones agrícolas. El análisis se realizó mediante el método Delphi, con un panel de 26 expertos en agroecología y economía agraria, mediante un cuestionario de priorización de criterios con distribución de puntos recopilados a través de diversos canales de comunicación.
Resultados principales: Entre los hallazgos principales, los cultivos de cobertura, los residuos de cultivo y la mínima alteración mecánica del suelo son las prácticas más sostenibles para la conservación de la biodiversidad, la mejora de la calidad del suelo, la mitigación del cambio climático y la prestación de servicios ecosistémicos. En el mismo análisis, los expertos coincidieron en que estas prácticas son rentables y técnicamente viables cuando se implementan en cultivos.
Aspectos destacados de la investigación: El estudio concluye presentando puntuaciones ponderadas que integran tanto los beneficios ambientales como las consideraciones prácticas de cada práctica, ofreciendo un marco para priorizar las intervenciones agroecológicas. Esta investigación subraya la importancia de equilibrar la sostenibilidad ambiental con la viabilidad económica en la transición hacia sistemas agrícolas más sostenibles, especialmente en el olivar, donde la diversidad de condiciones ambientales, sociales y económicas exige soluciones a medida.
